Excursion holidays will give you a fulfilling experience, from the cultural richness of Granada to the majestic nature of the high Sierra Nevada mountain range.
You will be staying at the lovely and quiet Hotel Taray, on the outskirts of Orgiva which will be the center point of the holidays. The Hotel Taray has beautiful grounds and gardens, with a large swimming pool, within magnificent mountain views.

Places you could visit:
Granada, is set in a valley on the north side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, you can see the highest points the Mulhacen at 3482 meters and the Veleta at 3394 meters, you take in the whole scene as you enter the city and in the spring with the snow still covering the range it is just such a beautiful picture. You will be visiting the famous Alhambra Palace, and the Moorish quarter called the Albaicin with its ancient narrow cobbled streets and Moorish tea shops.
Nerja on the Costa Del Sol visiting the stunning Caves of Nerja which have extensive grottoes, archaeological remains and the world’s largest column, rising upwards for 32 meters (105 feet) central column.
Cordoba has a history of over 2.000 years, both the Romans and Muslims contributed to the city’s status as a capital city. Every culture that has set foot in this city has left its imprint, and this remains evident up to this point in time.
The Alpujarras in the South side of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. This area has some of the most beautiful scenery and reputedly the purest air in Europe. It is a temperate climate, cooled by gentle breezes, with mild, sunny winters. The visits to the mountain Moorish villages Capileira, Bubion and Pampaneira can be breath taking. In the Spring, the valley is lush and green with the fields ablaze with poppies and other local wild flowers, whilst there is still snow on the mountain tops.
Mediterranean Coast, or Tropical coast, is only half an hour from Orgiva, there are many lovely coves and beaches with family run restaurants, fresh caught fish is the lunch of the day.
West Alpujarra Tour from Orgiva we take the lower valley road to Torvizcon crossing the river we climb up through the mountain passes to Trevelez the highest mountain village in Spain. After stopping for a break for site seeing and lunch we continue through the Alpujarra villages of Busquistar, Portuges, Pitres, Pampaneira back to the hotel in Orgiva.
Sierra Nevada Ski Center is on the north side of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. The trip takes about an hour and a half giving you breath taking views of the mountains and the plains of Granada. Lunch in one of the mountain restaurants.
For people who would like to do some Light walking;
- Short Walks 2 hours with Picnic lunches there are various possibilities to choose from:
- O Sel Ling Buddhist retreat Center Near Pampaneira
- Cañar village walk from village along the valley to waterfall
- Capileira mountain village walk through village and down into the gorge to river.
Other possible entertainment for your holiday week: a dinner at the hotel with a Flamenco Evening.
